When cattle in the US are grown they are injected with hormones to bulk them up and because of this we ingest these same hormones. Today, females begin puberty between 7 and 8 years of age compared to age 18 in the 1700’s. Not only does this change our evolution and affect the meat we eat; these growth hormones seep into the soil. This contaminates our groundwater and destroys aquatic ecosystems. I chose to illustrate this by saying we might as well put the hormones into the soil ourselves because these hormones are passed into the ground. I hope to encourage people to make the change to USDA Certified Organic Meats.
